Sophomore Girls Uniform Turn In and Dodge Ball Game

All uniforms, shooting shirts, shiny blue pants, travel suits and gym bags will be turned in on Wednesday. Also, please bring your $50 check for tshirts and sweats (made payable to JHS.)

If everyone brings all their stuff and money, we'll see about playing a little dodgeball afterward.

The sophomore girls traveled to Huntley to finish of their season with a B game against the Red Raiders. Jessica Myers lit it up in the first half leading the Skyhawks to a halftime lead with 10 points. The Red Raiders fought back and took the lead with 9 seconds to go. The Skyhawks calmly came down the court and got a great look at the basket, but Genna Gallina's shot just missed but landed right in Haley Stark's hand (unofficially her 3rd rebound of the entire season) and Haley's put back at the buzzer put the Hawks on top.

The sophomore girls finished up their season with an exciting victory over the always tough Huntley Red Raiders. Morgan Berge scored 11 points to lead the Hawks to their record setting 21st victory of the season. The girls finished with a record of 21-7 overall and 10-2 in the Fox Valley Conference.

JHS vs. Crystal Lake Central - Friday, February 5, 2010

The sophomore Skyhawks finished up the Fox Valley Conference schedule with a victory over Crystal Lake Central on Friday night. After a slow start, the girls played a great 3rd quarter, forcing Central into 8 turnovers and getting easy baskets. Morgan Berge scored 10 points to pace the Skyhawks to their 20th win of the season.

With 1 game left, the sophs are now 20-7 overall and finish with a 10-2 record and second place finish in conference.

JHS vs. Woodstock North - Tuesday, January 2, 2010

The Sophomores traveled to Woodstock on Tuesday to take on the Thunder in their brand new gymnasium. The Hawks jumped out to a quick 9 to 0 lead, put it on cruise control for a while and then finished off the young Woodstock North team, winning 47 to 26. Morgan Berge was 7 for 10 from the field including her very first 3 point attempt in high school to finish with 15 points. Mo also had 4 steals. Haley Stark scored 10 points and had 6 rebounds.

With their victory, the sophs are now 19 - 7 on the season and 9 - 2 in the Fox Valley.Practice on Wednesday is after school.Practice on Thursday is at 6:30.Bus time on Friday is 4:15 to Crystal Lake Central.
