The Hawks B team jumped out to a 14 - 1 halftime lead, scored the first 4 of the second half and cruised to a victory over the Gators.

Annie Prybil lead the way for the Hawks with 8 points and 4 assists.
Corrie McMahoon and Heather Zorn each had 4 points.

Johnsburg vs. Sterling Newman, Saturday, January 28

At the end of the third quarter, Newman led 30 -14. The sophs then scored 19 points in the fourth quarter and cut the Comet lead to 5 before falling.

Heather Miller scored 12 points to lead the way for the Hawks.
Chelsea Vesely scored all of her 9 points in the 4th quarter.

The sophomore Lady Skyhawks fall to 13 - 6 after losing their first game of 2006.

Wow! Talk about some defense. With 4:35 to go in the 2nd quarter, the Big Northern Champs were down 10 - 4. After their only timeout of the game, the Skyhawks went on a 33 - 2 run to finish the game. The 2 points scored by Genoa were in the final minute of the game.

Heather Miller had 8 points for the Hawks.
Chelsea Vesely, Corrie McMahon and Anne Hinley each had 6. The rebounds statistics will follow.

The win keeps the sophomores undefeated in the calendar year 2006 and moves their record to 13 - 5.

The Hawks played their best game of the season in beating the Rockets by 19. The Hawks balanced scoring attack was lead by Chelsea Vesely's 9 points. Heather Miller and Anne Hinley each scored 6. The sophomore Skyhawks pulled down what could be an all time record 69 rebounds, including 34 offensive rebounds. Heather Miller, Anne Hinley, Amanda Justen and Heather Zorn all had at least 9 rebounds.

With their victory and Marengo's loss to Hampshire, the sophs clinched the Big Northern Championship.

In a battle for first place in the Big Northern, the Hawks got an early lead and held it for the entire game, winning the one point battle among the BNC's two best teams. The Hawks used their aggressive defense and rebounding to hold off the Indians.

Anne Hinley played her best all around game of the season scoring 9 points, getting 7 rebounds, 4 steals, 3 assists and 12 floor burns. Anne hit 5 out of her last 6 free throws to help seal the victory.

Heather Miller overcame a cold shooting night to get 7 points, 9 rebounds (8 offensive) and 4 steals.

The Skyhawks move to 10 - 5 on the season and 6 - 0 in the Big Northern Conference.

Both teams came out on fire and the score after the first quarter was 13-13. Hampshire took a 6 point lead to halftime and was leading by 3 at the end of three quarters. After Hampshire scored the first basket of the 4th quarter, the Hawks went on a 10 - 0 run to lead by 5. Hampshire got to within 3 and had 4 shots to tie the game but the J-Town sophs hung on. The young ladies from Johnsburg had 20 steals.

Chelsea Vesely led the Hawks with 11 points and 4 steals.
Courtney Bielis added 8 points and had 5 rebounds from her point guard position.
Heather Miller should go to Vegas, she had 7 points, 7 rebounds and 7 steals.
Anne Hinley continues to dominate the boards, ripping down 11 to go with her 5 steals.

The sophomores are now 8 - 5 overall and 4 - 0 in the Big Northern Conference.

After a sluggish start, the Sophomore Lady Hawks pulled away from the pesky Hornets to win 33 - 20.

Amanda Justen 8 rebounds, 4 blocked shots

The Hawks are now 7-5 overall and 3-0 in the Big Northern.
